PODCAST - Goal setting for your QIP

I had fun recording this Podcast with 1 Place Childcare and wanted to share it with you all.

The topic for our conversation was my choice and I knew straight away what I wanted and needed to talk about. Quality Improvement Plans can weigh heavily on Leadership teams.

At Hourglass Consultancy we want to support you reframe your thinking around the regulatory requirements of your role and shift from doing them because you 'have to', to making them a valuable tool for you to use within your practice. We like to come up with new and exciting ways to approach compliance, and Goal Setting is one thing we've been focused on in all our Leadership Programs, so we wanted to share it with you.

Goal setting effectively for Quality Improvement Plans is so essential to keeping your team engaged and inspired. This is why we've recently created an eBook for you all to have further guidance & inspiration to set some new goals.

The next best thing to setting Big Hairy Audacious Goals is to have a more exciting

Quality Improvement Plan that has the ability to showcase your service in a dynamic, engaging and visual way.

Slabs of text about our strengths/exceeding practices in a QIP isn't aligned to the way we work in the Early Childhood / OSHC Sector so we came up with a new way to demonstrate our strengths.

Since the design of the PowerQIPing approach in 2021 by Michelle Walsh, the Hourglass Consultancy team have conducted training to & provided support for more than 150 centres who are all using presenting their QIPs using the PowerQIP model.

It’s dynamic, uses video and photos and provides a more interactive experience to showcase your service to families, team members and the Assessor.

I'm so confident you will love PowerQIPing once you read the eBook, but back to the Podcast for now... in this episode, Michelle shares tips and insights regarding goal setting as part of Quality Improvement Planning in the early childhood sector.

In this episode we cover:

– Goal setting and common mistakes

– Key areas for effective goal setting

– Realities and challenges beyond ideal scenarios

Enjoy! Reach out if you need support planning your goals or creating your PowerQIP.
