About the Event

We are so exciting to share Kerra-Lee, the Director at Connect Ed will be co-facilitating this session!

Beginning with a foundational understanding of brain development, we'll explore the complexities of children's 'challenging' behaviors, exploring them as a nuanced form of communication, particularly within the context of developmental trauma.

Participants will develop an understanding of the importance of 'prioritizing prevention'; emphasizing the importance of developing proactive strategies and creating supportive environments, including practical applications within education and care settings. All participants will be provided with templates to further reflect on children's behaviour within their ECEC context.

We will also explore how we can support children’s behaviour and how we can ensure our learning spaces are catering to the needs of all children. Participants will also begin to understand how behaviour is communicating with us and we will unpack how we feel about children’s behaviour and how we can reconcile this, taking into consideration the complexities of children's lives in current times is essential to understanding their behaviours. Positioning ourselves where we can look at what we know and what we don't know and empathise with the child. We will discuss the iceberg and aim to create an environmental behaviour support plan.
